Two landmark and complementary “Class A+” office towers, 150 North Riverside and 110 North Wacker, each with unique site challenges that yielded exceptional results, now rise on opposite sides of the Chicago River. Completed in 2017, 150 North Riverside is a 54-story, 1.2 million-square-foot (11,000-square-meter) office tower located at the confluence of the three branches of the Chicago River. The building offers exceptional view corridors, a soaring transparent lobby, large open floor plates, and state-of-the-art building technology. The project incorporates an unprecedented 1.5-acre landscaped public park, as well as 360 feet (110 meters) of river frontage. Situated between active train tracks and the river, the presentation will highlight the transformation from “unbuildable site” to Chicago’s latest landmark. Known as Bank of America Tower, 110 North Wacker is a 57-story, 1.5 million-square-foot (14,000-square-meter) office tower under construction along Chicago’s premier business corridor: Wacker Drive. With an expected completion date in late 2020, 110 North Wacker will soon complement its distinct design with dynamic public space, as well as a new mark on the Chicago skyline. Several challenges and opportunities of the trapezoidal site led to this unique development.
