Chicago Architecture Center
Held the evening of 29 October, this invite-only VIP reception allowed attendees to mix and mingle at the stunning new Chicago Architecture Center, which re-opened to the public in the summer of 2018. Bordering the bank of the Chicago River, the bi-level museum, lecture and gallery space fittingly yields vistas of the varied architectural styles that make up Chicago’s skyline, such as the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower, the Spanish colonial revival Wrigley Building, and the art deco NBC Tower.
While partaking of refreshments and canapes, VIPs had the chance to explore the Building Tall exhibit at the Drake Family Skyscraper Gallery, featuring scale models of iconic skyscrapers from Chicago and around the globe—including a 40-foot-tall (12.1-meter-tall) model of Jeddah Tower. Also on display is the Chicago City Model Experience in the Chicago Gallery, with over 4,000 resin buildings and interactive elements that tell stories of the city.
