The Hub is the first Canadian high-rise project for British architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP), a commercial tower located at 30 Bay Street in Toronto. The project was won in a competition organised by Oxford Properties in 2017 and is currently being designed in collaboration with Adamson Associates as the Architect of Record.

The new 60-storey tower, which will be one of Toronto’s tallest commercial office buildings, will deliver in excess of 1.4 million square feet of premium AAA class rentable office space in Toronto’s downtown area. It will comprise a range of office floor plates in varying sizes, to accommodate both tech companies and corporate offices. The tower’s lower podium floors are large and flexible enough to be used as trading floors.

Both the podium and tower have been elevated extensively above the ground plane to provide maximum transparency through the building’s lobby, providing a new harmonious urban setting to the heritage building at 60 Harbour, Toronto Harbour Commission.

The building’s grand lobby will be animated with retail and amenities providing an activated and vibrant public realm linking through to the Path system. The journey to and from the Path will take visitors via a new glazed atrium, linking the Heritage building to the towers lower Amenity Floors providing an animated environment for all building users.

Within the tower will be a number of enclosed sky gardens located at the corners, providing panoramic views across both the Lake and the City. 

The top of the tower will capitalise on the wonderful views afforded by this strategic waterfront location creating a triple height glazed hospitality facility or executive suite. The new office tower will have four basement levels providing an extra 250,000 square feet of space below ground accommodating parking.

The building targets a LEED v4 Gold Core and Shell certification and is destined to become a significant landmark within the Toronto City skyline.
