Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel at the Aqua Tower, and Other Venues
The Congress will be held at several venues across Chicago, with the core conference taking place at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in downtown Chicago. Located in the Lakeshore East neighborhood on Columbus Drive, Aqua Tower offers spectacular views of the city, a variety of convenient amenities, and upscale accommodations.
Completed in 2009, Aqua Tower’s design draws influence from its impressive neighbor, Lake Michigan. The wave-like shape of each unique balcony provides guests with a view of the skyline, Millennium Park, or the Chicago Lakefront. Aqua boasts extensive meeting spaces with an elegant ballroom, as well as a spa and recreational facilities, a rooftop swimming pool, and a modern lifestyle garden. Minutes from the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park, Aqua Tower is just a short walk from the best entertainment the Windy City has to offer.
The capacity of the conference facility within the Aqua Tower is around 1200 delegates—enough to accommodate the typical annual CTBUH conference. However, with the 2019 event being a World Congress, and containing the Council’s 50th anniversary, attendance is expected at 2000 people or more. The Congress will thus take place across a number of special venues in the immediate vicinity of Aqua Tower, including Blue Cross-Blue Shield Tower, and the new Chicago Architecture Center.
Very favorable, negotiated rates at the Conference Hotels mean that you can stay in this prime location during the conference for highly competitive rates. In particular, as a non-profit organization, CTBUH has to guarantee a minimum number of rooms at the hotel, so delegates are urged to help reduce this risk to the Council by please staying at the conference hotel.
