Much of the future urbanization on the planet will occur in regions such as the Middle East and Africa, as large youth populations, the need to diversify economies away from fossil fuel and extraction industries, and the desire to improve quality of life for millions presents huge opportunities and challenges. Some of the largest master-planned urban developments in the world are set to be constructed in places such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria, and many of these will contain the new tallest buildings for their respective nations. A diverse panel of city-makers who work in the region charts the course forward.
