While the development challenges for every region are unique, the factors that present both challenges and opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa—repositioning economies away from a dependency on fossil fuels, working with extreme climates, and navigating complex sociopolitical landscapes—present massive learning opportunities for the rest of the world, which may face similar situations in the future. Colleagues share their best-practice insights into tall building and city-scale development in the region, with an emphasis on sustainability.
