WeWork opens hundreds of new locations a year — more than 200 globally in 2018. This talk will highlight how custom rule-driven and generative design tools enable WeWork’s design teams to deliver on rapid schedules, while maintaining high design and construction standards.

WeWork provides hundreds of thousands of members across the globe with space, community, and services. Underlying every stage of WeWork’s design and delivery processes is a custom software ecosystem, allowing the company to make better sourcing decisions, improve its designs, build faster and smarter, and ultimately improve the lives of the people working within its buildings. This focus on rich building data, automation, and standardization has enabled WeWork to scale to more than more than 485 locations in just over nine years. In this talk, Jonatan and Andrew will share how custom rule-driven and generative design tools enable WeWork’s teams of designers, AoRs, and EoRs to deliver on rapid schedules, while maintaining high design and construction standards.
